I think copycat suggests he was doing it solely for that purpose. Thats not the case; the guy had some serious mental problems that pushed him to this point and Columbine no doubt gave him inspiration and "support" to carry out what his emotions were pushing him to do.

Either way this is a BAD thing to have happened, but BAD things happen all the time - just not all at once. Its just like this shit in your life. . .if you lose your girl, your job, your mother dies, and you get evicted in the year - you had a bad year. If it happens over like 5 years, its "ups and downs". This was just multiple bad things all rolled into one big cluterfucked tragedy.
