i got another letter from a friend of mine at Ft. Benning, he's in basic down there. he said he volunteered for a funeral. he folded the flag, did a 21-gun salute and all the other stuff they do at a military funeral, but he's in basic. he said their the first in us army history to preform a funeral while in basic. the guy who's funeral it was was a chopper pilot in Vietnam and flew medivacs. his character was portrayed in We Were Soldiers, but i don't know who he was.
