Default Omaha-suggestions wanted - 10-26-2002, 03:08 PM

If Omaha (obj_team3) was to be re-made what changes/additions would you like to see?

alternate routes. 3 entrances on the bottom, 3 separate ways up, maybe do something about spawn sniping... tip a few boats over and give allies some cover.

There should be more ways in and up, and a lot more boats. Like maybe some flipped over, and some further up the beach, to provide cover for the spawn-snipers, and Axis Lamers who camp with MG's, LoL. Also you should add a gun turret somewhere on top, once you are on the other side, to provide more of a challenge. oOo:

You know the two sandbag barriers inbetween the two conrete structures, they should each be equiped with a MG-42. Also Allied players shouldn't be able to use sniper rifles, and (if possible) mortars should be placed at the Axis' disposal.

most of your suggestions have been implemented and i hope to have a few screenshots up later today
Somethings that i have done.
You can,t get under the map anymore, there is more acess up to the bunkers(more bunkers)
The allies have more cover on the beach as well as 2 tanks avaliable. However the axis have a flak to take out the tanks and more mg's. The allies have one mg the beach.
I'll update later with some shots in a new post

I have some comments, too.

Make the beach longer. It should be where allies spend quite some time dodging bullets. DO NOT, I repeat DO NOT provide lamer allied sniper-campers with cover on the beach. It should be run or die out there. Open as hell. The shingle should be a REAL objective, not just something you run to at start and thats it. There also should be more possibilities to use mg42 nests pointed on the beach with better cover for the axis gunners. It is soo stupid to see those towers all empty!

THen, as allies enter the bunkers, that is where the axis should have a much harder time defending: create more ways to the top (maybe one on the hillside itself?) and do other stuf to make it easier for allies to clear uot the bunkers (at least temporarily). thats about it.

Home im not too late

make it so on allied, snipers can't be used before the shingle, and once it's breached, make them available. More MG42s that are harder to hit. A long beach would be nice, so you actually have to try, and use the idea against Axis coming down the beach. and get rid of frigging shotguns

Increase the ground behind the cliff bunkers. Set the 88's further back. So even if the snipers are clearing the ridge lines then make it harder for the assault force to reach the 88's.
Creating a current in the water which pulls the people hanging out in the water might be a good idea. I know the German Assault mod which never went anywhere had two maps, one was the Arnhem bridge which had a current and also the water caused damaged to you the longer you stayed in.

With the new spawn 3 second invulnerability installed in the game via Spear Head you might think that you would at least be able to get out of the water or the deeper end before the damage starts to take its toll. Keeping in mind the water temp. should be relatively low, I am sure the channel doesn't get to tropical temps. So cold damage could be atributed to this and force the snipers out of the water. Ok I guess thats it.

Make it so you don't have to run thru this little hillside base, I mean, what the hell? They have this DOOR at the bottem of the bluff? Be real. Make a little path that kinda scales the bluff.

Like the DoD omaha? Yeah that would be tight if you actually had the baricade they blew with the bangalor torpedos and det packs. Maybe adding blast holes in the terain where the allies can gain access to the underground bunker? When the wall is destroyed I mean.

The suggestion for the mg42's in the middle sand bag bunkers would be cool, but maybe making them the portable versions, so the allies would have a chance to grab them and use them to hold an area in the assault.

actually, i am always allied, but i think it is too easy, i just like realism, thats all. Also, there should be allies at the start that are randomly selected to hold bagladors, and if they die, the bangladors are on the ground, so you have to pick them up and place them.
