I know when I first started out, I used GAMESPY cause I didnt know what the hell I was doing. There was ALWAYS someone in the chat there, and you got some good information. Now that I "get it", I dont need to use it, or know where to go to get information. GAMESPY is good for folks who want a "community" environment prebuilt for them, and is also useful for clans and such to meet.

For those though that really dont need all the extra bells and whistles, ASE is a preferred alternative. We need Gamespy simply because most companies are more comfortable with a utility with all the flash that will showcase their upcoming products. I can only imagine the type of traffic these people are getting from the 100,000 folks who have downloaded THE SIMS ONLINE BETA (man I got some wild photos - one word - LESBIANS!!!), and have checked out all the OTHER things that Gamespy has to offer. ASE cant offer that, and I dont think wants to. For that reason they wont receive the type of support that Gamespy gets.

This also doesnt take into account the amount of people who visit Forumplanet which is TONS more I'm sure than Gamespy - ALOT MORE.
