Default My thoughts on Spearhead - 11-20-2002, 12:23 AM

MOH was, for me, the best fps of all time. Quake and Unreal were moving to more unrealistic game play, with rocket jumping and other aerial manuvers like jump pads, and weapons that only could be dreamed up on acid, along came MOH.

MOH, with a sense of gritty realism, desperatly slow movement, grimly colored enviornments...

Boy I couldn't wait for Spearhead! Especially afer Wolfenstein and SOF2, which were ruined by their Quake like movement speeds, support for bunny hopping...

Well Spearhead has ruined MOH for me. It is simply Quake in an army helmet. The running speeds make rifles pretty much useless. Bunny hopping is becoming prevasive. Might as well play SOF2, which I uninstalled the day before I picked up Spearhead...

OH and performance? I have a P4 1.7, 512 Rambus Ram, GF 4 ti 4600, and cable; UT3 runs like a charm, so does everything else, including MOH, but Spearhead is frequently unplayable.

Why did they take such a great game and ruin it? Now all it is is a machine gun strafe fest.

why? i have a AMD 1.73 521RAM GF3ti200 using driver 40.72 and DSL and it's runs perfectly for me, very smooth in sigleplayer, and smooth in good ping servers. before i installed spearhed i just reinstalled MOH.

I have some very easy solutions. Find a server that has the run speed turned down to the moh crawl, and turn some settings down. I have not seen anyone doing the bunnyhop. SH does not allow 2 jumps in a row. You must take a step or stop in between jumps. Otherwise, stick with mohaa.

Does it cost more for each additional section in the forum? If not, why not make a "Whining" section for all these posts? biggrin:

What is the difference between whining and criticism? Well, criticism is what I wrote, whining is what happens when r the punk who called this whining can't get his mommy to drive him to the mall.
ddd

Spearhead is a major disappointment because performance is inferior to MOH and because of run speed. If 90% of the servers have run speed set at default it becomes pretty tough to find a server loyal to the MOH I enjoyed. As I said before, it becomes Unreal or Quake in army suits.

And circle strafe? That is a technique that should be buried along with bunny hopping. Games should advance past that Mario brothers mentality.

As for this not being a Spearhead forum, in the Ven diagram of games Spearhead is encompassed by MOH therefore my comments are appropriately placed. And according to that idiotic reply then this web site should not even mention Spearhead. Dummy.

BLah, blah, blah, blah, blah. Why don't you return the game and get something else? Or why don't you start your own server and set it the way you like? Or have a friend do it? Or write EA a manifesto?

Why don't you do something instead of just mewling?

I personally would like all the whiners to return their games and play something else. Anything to get them to stfu with their "comments".
"Oh my, I was only communicating. Isn't that what forums are about? What's your problem, man?"

My problem is that I have to wade through four or five of you fool's post about "Spearhead sucks because..." or "EA sucks because..." to find some useful information. Then when someone asks a question, it goes unanswered until picked up by Rude Dog or one of the other mainstays of the community. The only contribution you whiners have is to complain or to post ridiculous pointless BS and call it "humour". And to take it a step further, the only thing the rest of us contribute half the time, ( myself included,) is to complain about you.

So please, do us all a favor. If you're unhappy with the game, there are a lot of people, ( again, myself included), that would be more than happy to help you try to set it up as you like. If that is too much trouble, then please just take it back and find another hobby.

dude shut the fuck up people are entitled to their opinions. if they're not allowed to have negative opinions about the game, then shut the fuck up about your positive opinion, because really i don't give a damn.

My theory is: they are done with the MOH franchise (at least on PC) and just wanted to take us for the last dollar they think they can get out of us. Some game companies dont get it when they have an addicted following. They just dont believe that putting out more of the same will really be rewarded with riches.

So they pimp it until it runs dry, and then move on. And EA has moved on.
