The reason they used ONLY Squads and Platoons was because of the terrain...
It was all forest and hills.. very bad terrain for vehicles.. Also I might say, aircraft was not very affective due to the enemy hiding in there 'holes' when we bombed them... Helicopters were used a lot though

, and very affective for transportation..
