Server Admins - Community Ban List Growing -
12-01-2002, 12:51 AM
The list of banned names and IP address is growing quickly, and we can always use the logs from your server to help in the fight. Just email me @ doclabsinc@hotmail.com or PM me through the forums and I'll review the submission and contact you for whatever info is needed to keep everything honest.

If their name or IP is on that list, they did something "f8cked" up to someone else's computer first. A cheater deserves a cheater's death. Hope they rot in hell. Besides, if you can't protect yourself, you shouldn't have a always-on connection in the first place.

uhm actually i highly suggest you take those down because if someone gets hacked you are the first to blame for giving people easy access to their IP's cheater or not what you did was wrong.
so if you say these guys fucked with someone else's computer then who is the idiot who wasnt protecting themselves, obviosly someone on your end.
but i figure your just saying they fucked with someones computer because you want it to seem right. well its not. go fuck a duck.

You people can whine and cry all you like, and even if I have to remove the post from the forums, the list will stay there. Cheaters don't deserve to not be exposed. If they get hacked, oh well, ask me if I care. Then ask me who hacked first. I spoke with a personal friend who is a lawyer for a firm that prosecutes electronic crimes and he said it is perfectly legal and within my rights to post. My suggestion is to worry about yourself, and keep your IP off the list, then you'll have no problems.

hacking is different than cheating dumbshit. and its obvios you dont have a friend who is a lawyer because he would tell you that posting personal information on ANYONE on the internet is not within your rights to post as those rights are not by law but by forum rules and terms of agreement. moron, plain and simple moron.

Such a list isn't of any value for a banlist for your server, as I for one would not people from a server who I do not even know what and if they've done something wrong.
A guy gets a lucky shot, or is just fooking good, gets accused of cheating, and ends up on the list. I'd always rather keep my own list of those, and I think most people want that.

It is very illegal to post peoples IPS in a public website.
Now if i was a cheater and i was on that list I would contact your Web Host and get you shut down.
You cant post peoples IPs on the internet.
Its private information and you are breaking the law.
Btw this is the main reason i wouldnt get involved with that whole Admins Unite thing ,How can an 11yr old server admin(example) have the right to ban someone from 50 servers because the guy was better than the 11 yr old.
Where do you draw the line between cheater and idiot Admin??

You should just ban everyone...BAN the f**king lot!
I have the perfect solution, I create a multi-player game on my own computer and turn the maximum clients settings to `1` and then I run about and shoot at the walls, sometimes camp with a shotgun or maybe a rocket.
Its good because I dont get spammed, I dont get shotgunned, noone uses neon skins or sunflares, and im pretty sure the girls eyes on that poster dont follow me `everywhere` I walk.

Please do not post peoples IP address here. I will edit your post or link.
You should take the warning from the other members, that Posting people's IP address is not the right thing to do.

Noctis, ive seen many people who were just good and kicking a clan's ass get banned for some gay reaosn like, "they had an aimbot" or "he was shooting thru walls". so i doubt u want that shit on ur list. plus bannign ips is so stupid, everytime i reset my modem i get a new one, which means some other guy with my isp is gonna find himself banned on a few mohaa servers and immune on a few otheres. ;P
anyways saying cheaters should die and rot in hell, man u need a life. this is a game as someone else pointed out. if mohaa makes up so much of ur life that u have nothing better to do then harass cheaters, then go pay punk buster about 2 million bucks so we can crack it in the first day anyways.

You make a very good point on banning players. Cooki3, but if the admin knows what they are doing. They could ban the whole sub net down to the class B or even C but then know one would be playing on there server. So it defeats the purpose.
It's easier to have active admins who manually kick someone. It's even better when the "person" being kicked tries to release and renew his/her IP by resetting their modem. It takes 10x longer to do that then hit the ban button on autokick.
This goes back to: How do you really know why the person is being banned? did they just play too good that day and pissed the admin off as Cooki3 stated?
I'm all for banning players who cheat but a public banning is not the way to go, IMO
