Good point. After I bought the ti4600, that SP runs pretty well on my machine...

Why hate snowy park? -

Why does everyone hate that map? I can see if it kills your framerate, but it happens to be one of my personal favorites. I think the key to this level (and all other levels, matter of fact) is to NEVER stop moving. I believe the only soldier that should stop in his tracks is the sniper. I arm myself with my trusty boomstick (shotty) and dart between the trees taking people out as they run by, much like a trapdoor spider. I like to play the stealth game and I know I'm not the only one out there. And as I'm sure to catch flak from being a shotty user I have only one thing to say: If I'm using stealth and cover in a way that lets me sneak up on you, what does it matter what weapon I'm using? A 3 rnd. burst from smg or mg to the back of the melon is gonna kill you just as good as a blast o' buckshot. I just think everyone should keep a closer eye on their surroundings, and the snipers should stop gluing their eyeballs to the scopes. Of course not everyone does that, I'm just saying that it's not a good thing to do if you do it. I think that every weapon in this game has a way around it and players that whine about the weapons should learn to defend against them. Also, if anyone out there is lookin' for a shotty for their clan, gimme a holler!

Snowy park rocks. My gf2ti handled it like a champ and my ti4200 even better. I like to rambo it. the secret is to run thru the trees and not in the road. Its harder for the campers to pick you off that way. Anything is better than a linear map with choke points - city hall, brest, berlin, etc. Its only one map, get over it.

If you guys have framerate problems, try turning stuff down. Or maybe get a pc worthy of the game. I hear you dont need a good pc for cs or q3. Why should peeps with decent pcs have to suffer?

P4
1.5 GHZ
256 mb RAM
GeForce 2 MX
Win XP
Considering all the other levels run top notch I'm not about to waste 1,500 bucks for a new pc just because snowy park isn't running right.

Call me a n00b, but what the hell does it mean to go rambo? Just charge over the bridge or something?

Yeah, I like Snowy Park as well. It is best to be stealthy on this map, and I see (for the most part) people who like to run and gun tend to hate this map. Probably because there are no always-in-the-same-place-twice camping spots, or Ima-gonna-camp-at-this-choke-point spots.
My best (for my score) TDM map, and few people like it. oOo:

Are we talking about the Snowy Park in AA? Guess not. Snowy is THE map for Rambo. I always use that tactic there. Just pick up an smg, run like an idiot using the cover of the trees and only watch out for those damn shotties. And win...or come close to it...
|
That's Rambo.

Oh. Yah I do the same, but don't run like an idiot. Grab a rifle or SMG, hop tree to tree, and watch for movement. biggrin:

I think snowy got a bad reputation when its played with stock weapons.
With realism its one of the better maps.
