K this is all constructive. For your first try its real good, but here goes. I noticed you use lasso on the guy on the right. When you do lasso, just go slow to make sure not to distort the shape. When you put such a light picture on a dark background, it is easoly noticed. Bell just rang, have to go to next class. Ill put more on later. biggrin:

Overall, pretty nice. You might want to decrease the opacity of the background so the image is a little less busy.
Another way to help blend that, besides the eraser in airbrush mode, is to blur it into the background. Once you have the part that you want selected, inverse the selection. Then, go to layers, and make a layer mask for hide selection. Then, once the layer mask is selected, go into filters and use Gaussian Blur on the mask to blend it.

heh heh...the sad thing is, it's TRUE!
Seriously, I use these the most:
- Eraser
- Lasso
- Filters > Brush Strokes
- Filters > Render > Lighting Effects
- Image > Adjust > Hue & Saturation
- Filters > Blur > Motion Blur
- Filters > Pixelate > Pointillize
- Paint Bucket

In Photoshop 5.5, it's the second button down on the lefthand column in the toolbox...it's directly under the rectangle selection tool.
I think it might be called "freehand selection" in some apps.

Remember, you can click and hold down on buttons to get more options. Doing that for the lasso gives you a "magnetic lasso" which sticks to the edges of a picture. Good for precise cutting, assuming the contrast between what you want and what you don't want is good enough.
