My cab driver last weekend was pakistani. It was like 3am and he started smoking in the car. There was like 4 of my friends in the car and i was in the front. I told him that somking was bad for his health and he sholdn't do it. Anyway, he came to canada last year from pakistan. He said he was an Anaesthesiologist. I asked him what the fuck he was doing driving a cab and he said that is just temporary until he got a gob at the hospital. I was wasted so there could have been a lot more to the story, but I can't remember. And I don't really know how this fits into this topic, but whatever.

ive spent a bit of the day muddling over this in the back of mind. on one hand i want to respect the culture, its traditions and values and so forth. sort of like the tribes that eat their dead relatives to invoke and add the strength of that deceased individual.

but i just cant bend my will to accept this as a "cultural difference"... This is outrage. Another footnote in the tragedy that is the human race......
