Default Still need computer help! - 12-14-2002, 11:20 AM

Alright I've kinda narrowed down to what I want. I've decided on this barebone deal I saw on a site. It's a Asus A75-333 MOBO, AMD Athlon XP 2000+, 256 DDR RAM, Mitsumi 1.44mb Floppy drive (they still make those?), Sony 16X dvd rom drive, and some assorted case fans.

Now what I need to know is the MOBO compatiable with my G4? Also it says the sound card is integrated. My freind says that it's built in? Also if I get it, I want to bring it into my local tech and have everything from my computer now put into the new one. Is that possible?

Thnx.

The motherboard should be compatible with your vid card. I briefly checked the Asus website and it says your motherboard is AGP 4x compliant.

I have onboard (integrated) sound as well. You can still use the soundcard you have. I use my onboard sound to handle Teamspeak and my Soundblaster to handle all the game's sounds. It works great!!

As far as reusing your HDs and CDROMs you can stick them in any computer you'd like. No problem there.

Good luck...and get some more RAM while you're at it!! biggrin:
