Default Recommendations to speed my graphics up? - 02-05-2003, 10:42 AM

My system runs pretty slow when I run with 32bit colors and higher level details.
Thing is...I think/though that my system should be able to handle it...

Specs:
Amd 2100XP
512 DDR 2700
GF4 128mb
60gb 7200rpm IBM drive
WinXP

Any ideas to help me max out my FPS and graphics quality?

I would greatly appreciate it.

I am running :

Amd 1.2GHz
512 DDR 2700
GF4 128mb
2 40gb 7200rpm drives
Win98

and I get on average of about 50 to 90 FPS with all settings maxed including resolution. I am using a console command to unlock my FPS cap. That command is com_maxfps 250.

What kind of FPS are you getting with your settings?

Averages between 40-50 -but my machine 'freezes' and sticks with settings maxed out.

Throw money at it. Maybe it will turn into a 9700 pro, or maybe a hoover.

Are you talking spearhead or Allied assualt? If its spearhead, there isnt much you can do, the game is of insultingly poor quality.

For AA, you shoud be getting much better fps if you GF4 is a ti. With your set up, you shoudl never go below 50 fps on the worst spot with all your settings maxed. If it is a gf4 mx, then your card is holding you back and there isnt much you can do, other than throwing money at it. One long shot - make sure you dont have anti-aliasing or anitsotrophic filtering turned on. Both of those will chew up gpu processing cycles rather heavily.

More helpful?

Your PC should be running as well as mine. I get an average of about 50FPS.
