Default Autokick on Dedicated Server - 02-06-2003, 10:20 AM

Hi ,

i run autokick v2.11 when i run my server and it works fine....but i've been looking into setting up a dedicated server.

I can run autokick on this as well...but it wont allow me to say anything through the autokick or through the console on the server.

It says "say" unrecognised command even though its in the command list on the console.

As this doesnt work my announcements also dont work....can anyone help???

Also how do you assign a password to a dedicated server so that only specific people can join and where do they enter the password?

Thanks - Dan angel:

yes you can run autokick on dedicated server..just make sure the ip and password are that of the server...

as for the "say" not recognized, I don't know...I haven't seen that problem before

yeah its running now as it happens and the autokick is functioning....but the only prob i have is the announcements and sayings not working which is a bit annoying! fire1:

But cheers for answering....actually you could do me a favour and see if my server appears on the server list as the only people that have joined 2day r the ones that i gave the ip address to...so im thinkin it might not b showing up...if you or anyone has the time to do this for me then cheers!

The server name is: He Who Dares (<300 ping) and its an FFA.

Tnx - Dan angel:

make sure when you set it up that you put in the cfg file i believe, but don't quote me,

set g_gamespy 1 or set sv_gamespy 1 or something like that to allow it to be seen on gamespy..that usually helps for the in game browser as well

also if you are behind firewall then you would either need to get the ports opened for SH, and you might just run that computer(ded server) on the DMZ...try those first...but be careful with the config files..don't screw them up or you will have to reinstall or find someone with another cfg..maybe copy and rename to another, then just do rcon password exec server01.cfg where server01 is name of cfg

I get the "say unrecognized" error when trying to do rcon from the console without actually joining the server. once I join the server it works. Autokick and ASE work fine.

And if your server is not showing up. Try adding these to your dedicated server.cfg file.. If you haven't created one do so.

set sv_gamespy 1
set ui_dedicated 1
set dedicated 1
set sv_master1 "mohmaster.2015.com"
set sv_master2 "master0.gamespy.com"
set net_port 12203
