Just like Motor City Online, I had to pay monthly to play that. I can't believe I played it for over a year and giving EA another $10 a month to play another one of their games that they update when they feel like.

no, see here is my problem. I buy a game, and then have to pay monthly is complete bullshit. Because you don't know if you'll like it, so you waste 50 bucks and any monthly charges. I say either make it so we only pay monthly, and then we download it for free. Or have games like Global ops and BF1942 where it is online, but free. Of course Planetside may be too good to pass up. Have to wait and see.

I've been watching Planetside's development along with Star Wars Galaxies. They will probably give you a month FREE just for buying the game to see if you like it.

yah man, strikor knows what I mean. See Aces High, and those warbirds games, you could always dl the full version, and then have a week or so free. Buying a game and getting a month free if you don't like it is kind of bullshit. I think Planetside has a lot more to offer to me than most of the online games in the past. So I will probably enjoy that one. I can't wait to fly around those drop ships.

Yeah - They screwed me over when I bought WW2Online. It had a tiny sticker at the bottom of the box saying something about paying monthly, I didn't see it until they e-mailed me after I registered into the community...I mean that fucking sucks.....100 BUCKS, for a TRIAL of 3 months on an unfinished server with a fucking bugged out piece of shit....It did look very promising though....

Incorrect. My point was, for all of you complaining about having to buy a game then pay to play it, they should be giving you a free month with the purchase. I know with all MMORPG's I've been reading about that is what has been the normal promotion tactic.

WWII Online was basically a beta packaged as a finished product. the developers released it 9 months(not weeks, months!)early.
