9700pro. I wouldnt get the fx for the noise alone. They are very, very loud and the performance is only marginally better.
Best buy had a $100 rebate on the 9700 pro too, but that was off their insane retail price of $400. Look at newegg.com for the best prices from a quality site.

If you can get a good deal on the FX, go for it. otherwise, 9700 is the way to go. |

i would disagree, because pcworld.com said that ati is coming out with graphics cards that will blow away the FX |

4x is fine, in fact ive seen some tests that show 4x is better than 8x |

IF you look at the benchmarks at tomshardware i think it is you will see the FX on AMD puts the 9700 into the dirt |

I have now totally changed my opinion on the GF FX. My friend did a benchmark test with it last night, and found out that the only thing the FX beat the RADEON in was the 3DMark2003. In Quake 3, Jedi Outcast, Serious Sam, and Adobe Illustrator, the RADEON 9700 Pro preformed faster.
Go with the RADEON (I can't believe Im supporting ATI) cry:
