errr lol

You cant run auto-kick off your own server, it only works on remote public servers like Jolt.

I have this horrible feeling your starting your own private server and trying to run autokick on the same computer right? lol

You get Rcon password from the server cfg.file via ftp from the hosting company, but you cannot use rcon commands on a private hosted server. biggrin:

thats not strictly true. i run a spearhead server on my computer. it holds 15 players without any problem. i run auto kick as well. if he creates a config file in the mainta folder. in the config folder he puts his server imfo. copy and paste it into the unnamed soldier file in the config he can access auto kick with his rcon password. it will work just fine. been doin it for a year or more. i play the game windowed so if i need to access autokick i just hit alt. and tab. it switches the screens and i highlight the bad guy and .BAM..hes kicked and banned. best thing that ever happened to this game.

Yes you can run Autokick on your own server. It is very useful. It can work remotely or locally. You can edit the server.cfg file, or in the dedicated server console type seta rconpassword "yourpass". The quotes are required. Enjoy.

after you edit your server.cfg file with notepad, you will need to ftp or upload it to the server.

Then you need to restart the cfg file.

use the exec command to do this.

IE:
[code:9d643]exec server.cfg [/code:9d643]

Sorry if we are making this confusing oOo:

Let's recap

your server has a file called server.cfg. or some thing simular. My old provider called it serverx.cfg

you need to connect to your server via ftp and download this file to your computer.

You then open / edit this file with notepad.

Once you find the line with rconpassword or add the following line:
[code:4d816]rconpassword your_password_here[/code:4d816]

Now save this file and reupload it to the server, over writing your original file.

You will then have to have the server restarted to have the new server.cfg file take effect.
If you knew the old server.cfg file ( you would not be asking how to do this biggrin: ) you could just run the following connand
[code:4d816]rcon old_password exec server.cfg[/code:4d816]

Once the server is restarted or you have executed the new server.cfg file. Your new rcon password will take effect.

Hope this helps, a little at least.

Edit your server config by opening it with wordpad ... that should work. And save it and make sure it remains server.cfg. Yes, wordpad can open .cfg files. If you have any further questions, let me know.

I beg to differ on this. I had the auto kicker on my server, even while I was the host playing on it, and yet, it did the job fine.
