Even though I am against this war, it is good to hear that the we are meeting little or no resistance. Hopefully it will be over soon, and I pray that the damage that this war has caused in Iraq and outside of Iraq can be repaird.
My question is, how do you feel about how the media is covering the war?
And please respect everyone elses opinion.

I know Canada is already planning to help Iraq in the rebuilding process
I just dont feel like I can really trust was the media says...because it is usually meant to hype the american annhilation of the enemy, even if it's not the case.
anyway, better job than I expected.

I think it is almost surreal. Yesterday while watching the news they were on videophone with someone from the 3rdID, and he said "Hold we have to take cover we have encountered a tank" It was just weird seeing that happen ya know? I think the media being there every step of the way is a good thing, but they aren't showing us everything, for a reason. They "Have" to censor everything. All and all, I think the media coverage is cool.

I liek the coverage, sometimes its a bit overdone when its one every damn channel, but i love how they have reporteres embedded with divisions and units, it gives great coverage on what war is almost really like when they arent underfire.

Not so true. What you saw of the air raid that took place today was only a fraction of the entire campaign.

Those bombs dropping were great. Especially on my 5.1 surround system.
And then seeing my stocks pop on the same screen.
I almost had an orgasm.

I'm glad to see that resistance is minimal. It demonstrates how a regime held together by fear is tenuous, at best. Also, I like how the American and British forces lowered their flags at their objectives out of respect for the Iraqi people.

D00d, seriously. I'm talking to a few news stations to see if they can give me one of the tape feeds without commentary and sponsorship, just the cam of the bombings. evil:

I like seeing the effects of bombing and the goals we have accomplished, such as seeing that Iraqi man beat a poster of Saddam with his shoe. It still seems weird though to say "I am watching the war on TV." It makes me wonder about what a civilian from the World War Two era would think about having live coverage of a war.
