[quote="Cpt. Zapotoski":c9195]So, you got Samsung, eh??

Are they generally labelled as a "good" RAM manufacturer??

I'm still stuck on what RAM I should buy.. im looking for a RAM chip that will give me stability and performance.

Thinking about going "Crucial", but they seem to be cheap. No offense to anyone who has it.[/quote:c9195]

Crucial sells several grades of ram. Crucial pre-tests their ram and grades them. They then charge accordingly. Cheap crucial is just that. On the flip side, their "midgrade" ram is still pretty durn good.

I'm one for upgrading a few components at a time but i've built 3 complete systems from scratch. Sometimes it's hard to upgrade one component at a time when you need a new Mobo & Processor. My next upgrade will be a 2.53 P4 and new Mobo to go with it. I'll pass my Athlon XP to my secondary machine.
All that upgrading cost somewhere in between 1500 - 1800.

They overcharge. I just use Crucial as a reference. Like my friends PC's, I look them up on Crucial to find out which kind of RAM they use, then look on Ebay.

They do seem pretty high. I put Geil in mine. They were the only ones that sold ddr3200 at the time, which is the most my mobo can handle (now if I could just find a xp processor to match) The few reveiws I have seen of this company's high end ram have been very good.

Joe, the price seems fair for what you got. Good luck with the new toy.

Good luck with the system Joe.

I've had a hard time having my AMD Athlon overheat on me EVERYTIME I play a game so I'm going to OVERKILL my next system. I'm literraly going to have 8-9 fans in my whole system. Fan on chipset, two fans in front, two fans in rear, fan on side, etc...

I'm also going with Intel next too. I'm going to purchase a mobo that will allow me to upgrade and last me at least 3 or more years (hopefully).

Oh yeah, not to mention Hyperthreading, got to get that! biggrin:

Woohoo! My mouse mod worked! Here's it in action real quick!

I used a Multi-colored LED and sodering iron from xoxide.com. Tell me what you think!
