For me it has to be the mad fighting between the 3rd-id and the 101, they even went as far as saying they had copied each others webpage designs. This was back in 2001 though when the game hadn't even been released yet.

Can anyone else remember if there was a kickup over the waffen ss clan using that name? I seem to recall people were pretty pissed at a clan using that name because of some of the stuff they had done in the war.

Only thing I can remember about WAFFEN SS was Von Meyers tireless efforts to become a member of their ranks.

As far as FORUM Events...

The Arrival, banning, banning, ip banning, arrival, revival, cursing, farewell, RETURN, banning, and banning of ED! have stood out in my mind.

The thing i thought was pretty dumb was all these clans wer forming MONTHS before the games actual release. No-one had any idea at all if they would like the game or not, the 3rd and the 101 fell apart and the waffen ss followed soon after. 101 and 3rd fell apart due to lack of intrest, not sure what happened with the ss.

hint: play the game before making clans kids

I remember the war between 3rdID and 101...

My fondest memory ? Talking with the developers and giving them advice
on what to change, modify, add, et cetera.

Good ol' days! cry:

A mere few days into my time here, January 2002 I got into my first major flame war here with a particular SS.SGW Siggi about how Medal of Honor is a game of no skill and that no one is better than he is due to the fact that you can't be a "good player".

He stood resolutely by his reasoning that there is no skill to playing the game and once you have played it for a few weeks you have learnt everything there is to know and can get no better (even though he said that you cannot be better because it takes no skill - ja)

This went on for pages right up to the point where myself and a friend joined his listen server and he got totally raped, especially by my friend.

He then came here and accused us of cheating and still said he beat us biggrin:

And this was still the demo days, when the only cheat available en masse was the ability to type God in the console and teleportations.

He got shouted down by the forum in general and that pretty much settled me into the community hehe.

This was when shotgun and rocket posts were still in fashion and lasted for longer than 2 pages (most over 8) and the forum was red and yellow.

Whilst I must agree that there is definitely a roof to the ability of players nowadays Siggi's theory really was flawed.

I'd own my demo playing self now hehe.

Yeah it was nice to be able to talk to the devs even theough they weren't really forthcoming with any info.

Id really love to know what happened between ea and 2015, from what ive been told ea really stiffed them with finances one of the 2015 guys told me they had "made a motion picture from a made for tv budget". Just ea being tightasses i guess and wanting an outstanding prooduct for pocket change. hake:

I'd have to agree with Gerard on this.

Even though they weren't the foundest memories.. I'd have to say the 3rd ID vs. 101st always comes to mind when I think about when I first joined here. It's quite hilarous when I think about it now.
