No-one said it was the "vets job to keeps noobs from posting". Fact of the matter is without the vets this entire forum would be mainly dead. Id rather have a laugh at some posts than read 100 "n00b" posts asking stuff like, "how do i turn my pc on". oOo:

As for the vet forum i havn't a clue how much traffic it gets as i never bothered signing up for it and i have no intention of signing up for it.
AA.com is not IRC; inside jokes, okay, but an inside joke that looks like spam and only like 5 people understand qualifies as spam to me. I don't have a problem with that kind of 'spam', I have seen a lot of crap that can not be considered inside jokes though.

As far as 'vets' and 'this forum would be dead without them' is concerned; yes, true. But, on a forum with lots of vets who only post in 'Offtopic' (nowadays?), isn't the other part of the forum is just as much dead as it would be without vets? Not more n00b topics, not less. Because, as you said, it is not the vets job to keep n00bs from posting.
