All these things change...it would be stupid to not expect the world change as we start adopting all cultures
you become more tolerant of race/culture...you must become more tolerant of stuff like swearing.

LOL! Once I saw a commercial of a german family like parents and 2 children going into the car. They turn on the radio and suddenly comes this rap song "BITCH MOTHERFUCKER". The family look at each other stunned and then they suddenly dance to the beat. Rofl. Hilarious.

Yeah I totally agree.. no respect today. I may only be 17 but I respect everyone even if I truly hate them. My sister swears and my parents don't even care she is 11 (I think) but yeah me I would never dare swear to my parents cause they never did it while I was little I guess.
Also people with hats and opening of doors. I noticed people go to public places (Movie theaters, restraunts, etc) and don't even bother taking off their hats which makes me go insane.
I always hold open doors into/out of buildings that I'm entering/exiting, and hold open the door if I see people who are going to be exiting or entering and wait. But then you excpect some one to do it when your hands are full and they don't so instead you make me look like an ass.
I totally agree with the low rules in socitey...

I agree with most of what has been said.
I just wanted to add one thing:
I was in some class in college and the prof. put up a quote but didn't say who it was by or when it was from. It said something like "Young people today have no respect for elders etc. etc.". you all get the idea. Anyway, the Prof. asked the class when everyone thought the quote was created. People said 1990 etc.
Turns out the quote was from Socrates, and was a couple housand years old.
So we say that the world is getting worse, people have no respect, when maybe we haven't gotten any worse we've just stayed the same.

I found the quote:
"Youth today love luxury. They have bad manners, contempt for authority, no respect for older people, and talk nonsense when they should be working. Young people do not stand up any longer when adults enter the room. They contradict their parents, talk too much in company, guzzle their food, lay their legs on the table and tyrannize their elders."

[quote="Chronic Diarrhea":da8e0]Two nights ago I was out in a restaurant with some friends. We were at a family type restaurant that serves lots of different foods, .........long post using a convienent scapegoat thats probably been copied and posted on some racist forum.......... I'm sure none will agree with me, but understand that this was not intended to be racist, as facts simply cannot be racist.[/quote:da8e0]
good post chronic you'd make an excellent klansmen
but rather than blame the first available scapegoat, why don't you just realize that its the way society is evolving, believe it or not people said these things before "gangsta" rap was popular (madonna had "sexually explicit" videos in the late 80s, gangsta rap wasn't really common then) and just because a drunk screams something in a restaurant(even if the restaurant isn't known for drunks there are people drinking and someones bound to get drunk) or a fellow student says something offensive isn't a reason to go blaming a whole culture. Given, the more recent gangsta rap isn't helping anything but it evolved from the evolving society in america (other countries are going through the same thing and they aren't as affected by "gangsta rap")
As for children saying obsene things, there are many differences from the early 90s and today for one the internet. In this forum alone theres rampant swearing and sexual referrences and kids come here too ed: and porn can be accessed from anyone even children (most parents don't look over their kids sholder when they're accessing it) and what do you often find on those sites? the same words your bitching about plus pictures of women (or men) do naughty things, yet i don't see you blaming the internet at all and porn has been on the internet since nearly the beginning.

the facts could not be racist but your interpetation of them turned them racist (and i wonder where you live since every black person you met says offensive slang words)

It wasn't rap, it was a boy band, and it was "I wanna fuck you in the ass".
