The only thing that I have found that doesn't seem realistic about MOHAA (and I absolutely 100% LOVE this game - the DEMO anyway) is the fact that you have access to so many different weapons. Any normal human being could not carry a 10 pound M1 Garand rifle, a 12 pound Springfield sniper rifle, a 16 pound BAR, a Thompson SM and a Colt 45, and a Bazooka and easily get around. Physically impossible. In future MOHAA games, I'd like to see the realism increased where you can only carry the *single* weapon and sidearm of your choice with ammo - sort of like the Delta Force or Clancy games... Granted, I don't have to switch arms in the middle of a level but because they're there, I sometimes do. Oh well, I am a purist, yes, so shoot me. But I'll be trying to shoot you back, lol. :-)

are you referring to the SP demo settings? cuz in MP games you can only pick ONE main weapon, a sidearm, and grenades. the standerd armorment of a allied or axis soldier.

yes, the SP demo...seems there's no limit to the amount of weight you can carry!

I have only seen MP demo. From the videos I thought that it was possible they had one mode that allowed you to cycle through all the weapons, or that they did it in the videos so you could see all of them but it would not really work that way in the game.
Apparently you CAN cycle through all the weapons in the game. So in that case I would look at it as though I represented a whole detail of 4 or 5 guys each with a different weapon.
But I suspect I will play the game, once I get it, without switching weapons. Seems way to fakey to go from M-1, to Thompson, to bazooka, to BAR etc.

Wow, that's good to hear about the multiplayer. Yeah, I was referring to the single player game which is all I've ever tried. Guess I'll have to try the multiplayer mode once I load the game next week. Sounds like a blast and I'm glad to hear you can play it with a 56K modem. One main weapon and one sidearm is realistic as opposed to having five different main weapons and a side arm.

Still that aspect of the SP should be looked into by 2015, all they need is more realism.

Trash he mentioned the bazooka
I totally agree with this. Having access to all of the weapons at once is stupid. Having a sniper rifle and SMG could be possible (you can sling the weapon you aren't using over your back) but if you chose this then you should be slowed up some.
Having all weapons available ruins the realism for me.
Half of the time it's pointless having your squad to help you as you have the all the firepower yourself anyway.
In most cases on medium you can just run in willy-nilly and rape all the Axis without getting hit more than 2-3 times. Or just stand back and snipe them. Or chuck a grenade. Or use your MG. Or bazooka.
Too many options for a single soldier.
My main gripe with this game is the lack of stealth. There's no point being quiet 'cos the enemy always know where you are anyway, regardless of the noise you make.
That's one reason I am not looking forward to the SP that much. It's just endless shooting with little or no tactics at all.
Goldeneye for the N64 was the epitomy of a good single player game. You could choose to be stealthy or plow in guns blazing, but the game always rewarded you for thinking first.
You don't have to do that in MoH sp, you just use yer SM til you run out of ammo, then use yer MG. No need for stealth 'cos it doesn't reward you for using it.
I want this game primarilly for MP.

i agree this is a bit stupid but this would then mean that u would have to have a lot more people with you on each mission as you would need someone to carry the bazooka and someone else a sniper etc.

Yeah, I kinda thought it was retarded how you could carry a ton of weapons. I wish the game was like Operation Flashpoint where you play multiple roles in the campaign. Like maybe during some missions you are a sniper and some others you are just a regular rifleman. This flaw is probably the only thing I disliked about the game but this mixes realism while keeping the game fun. At least in multiplayer you can't hold a million weapons. MOHAA is still one of the best games to come out and have been waiting forever! I have had it preordered for a while now and I can't wait till next week! Can't wait to play the Omaha mission...

Yeah, I think it you should only one weapon, it makes the game more realistic , well 1 weapon (smg, machinegun, rifle ect..), a pistol and some grenades.

I agree, however, Delta Force Land Warrior had several weapons you could carry. I believe the second DF did also, but it ran crappy on most computers so I hated it. I would like to see maybe a handgun, rifle, and a SMG, plus some grenades of course. At least this way you'd have the SMG in crowded close combat situations. The worst on the demo is how you select the weapons. Most games assign a different number or key to a weapon, but here you have to hit the same key several times to select maybe a different long gun, such as sniper to M1.

Well, you have to ask yourself... is it fun?
I mean, sure... its stupid that you can carry so many weapons, but I think that with MOH:AA's single player game, it blends realism with gameplay FLAWLESSLY. Notice you can't pick up extra weapons, so there IS a limit. But I think it is trying to promote playing the level a different way each time. Notice how if you choose a different path different enemies spawn in different spots and do diff things? Most people complain about the spawning, but I think it is a cool idea to take the games replayability to another level.

Sounds like you guys pretty much agree with me. I guess we'll just have to stick with one weapon per mission and not switch over... Then again, now that I think about it, in the heat of battle you could theoretically pick up someone else's weapon, be it a BAR or Thompson so who knows. Anyway I'm sure the developers at EA thought this through.
The game, regardless, absolutely kicks ass. Best I've played yet and it's only a demo - 'til next week.

i think you should carry one weapon, pistol, grenades, and when you need to destroy a tank or etc. there should be a bazooka or panzershrek and ammo for it there and you should drop the weapon you were orignally using and when youre done with the bazooka just drop it and pick up your original weapon
