Not when I'm carrying an MG.

I too like to rifle, but the rifle is just to weak to keep up with the MG in realism (when I say realism, I mean CKR, because that's what almost every realism server has installed).
I can run most ckr servers with the M1. It is the most underrated weapon in the game. Only the very best players can make me put it away, but i find it very effective, even in maps like stalingrad. With the mg, you use short controlled bursts. With the M1 you use single shots, but I can bring the second shot (if needed) on target quicker than mgs can. I can also run faster and reload much quicker and the accuracy is unmatched. In a tight "spray and pray" situations, the m1 can rip off shots very quickly with less recoil to compensate for. You have to be accurate to use it, but that first shot is deadly.
