On my desktop system: AMD XP 1800+ 256mb pc2100 ddr ram Gf3 Ti500 I added another 250mb and it helped tremendously. Web pages, and games. I can see the difference, especially in loading times. Its fairly cheap (for desktops at least, I know almost nothing about laptops) and its good. Id add 256 more.
