If's it CD-R, don't count on it working. Try buying the real one, then see if you have the same problem.

Errr, I don't own an original Spearhead disc. It is a copy I donwloaded from the net, using a no-cd crack to play. When the updates came out, I had no problem installing them.

I still think the solution is to reinstall both Allied Assault and Spearhead. Now that I think of it, I had the same problem back then (when Spearhead was reased). I uninstalled everything and did a complete reinstall. Worked fine. Good luck.
