Gonna be an orthodontist and be making at least 70-80 grand a year. And my assistants will be doing most of the work while i fuck my gorgeous secretaries![/quote:24dad]
Not sure if it applies to orthodontists as well, but, dentists have very high suicide rates.
Personally, I'd like to be some sort of educator. Kids just don't seem to be recieving the amount of proper education they should be.[/quote:24dad]
can one man truly make a difference?

A study done here in Canada about High School students expectations of how much they will be making once out of College or University was something like 40% higher than what they will actually make. I really hope you guys will be making 60+, but that is well above average in every country.

I will be living off the forest. Hunting Bears and Wolves with my trusted knife and spear. Eat the flesh raw and drink water from water holes or from Ice picked from the mountains. In times off trouble I will eat roots and berrys and harvest the honey from bee hives.
Those who trespass my territory will die the most horrific death.
AAAAAAAAAWWWWWWWWW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!

Well, I've been out of high school for 12 years and out of university for 7 years...damn, I feel old.
I make $38,400/yr as a software tester. Not terrible money, but I hope to make more soon. This testing gig is for chumps. I gotta be more creative.

After I get out of college I'll probaly start out making about $35k at System Analysis or Computer Programming. Should get up to around $70k eventually (20 year mark?). Only 2 more years!
As for all you morons who think you'll make it big yet you don't take any specialty courses and don't do your work in school. Get real. I had a 3.997 GPA my senior year and bearly got into RIT.

PS thread hijack...you kids crack me up..In my 10+ years in the "workforce" its all about who you know...so keep in touch with those old bosses and hit your dads' buddies up for internships and job opportunities..BA..PHD..dont make much difference. by 30 you better be entrenched in an industry cause your marketing power will be in the toilet if you try and change industries after acrewing time. I am by far a corporate doctrine hater. i dont like "the man" or "the system", but unfortunaltely we live in a society IMO...i repeat IMO..that is bound by the treatise of the Rat Race. ANyone who is lucky to be involved with an industry that they love and some idiot is fool enought o pay them for it...well thats the real winner IMO... cool:

Spoken like an English major. Maybe pshycology. :P
There is a lot of truth to the "who you know" arguement but it is not the only way things happen. Good work usually doesnt go un-noticed, but you still need to always look out of #1.
Anyone that goes to college, gets a specialized, professional degree (engineering, accounting, computer science, law, etc.), works hard, and looks for advancement opportunities (and doesnt just wait for things to happen) will do just fine. Networking can help immensely, too. Dont expect a bunch of doors to swing open for a marketing degree. Advanced degrees open up new opportunities as well, you just need to be prepared to take advantage of those opportunies as they present themselves. If you do all that, then all you can hope for is to be promoted to your level of incompitence and ride it out to retirement.
