I've been driving for over ten years, and have sped like a mofo for those ten years. Finally I got nabbed last year doing 60 in a 35 (hey I was on my way to a strip club). Anyway, got a $275 ticket. Didn't fight it, I got busted, and sent in my money. A month later, I get a check back from the Sheriff Dept for $234. Not a bad deal.

Especially since that's a joke from a stand-up routine I've seen on Comedy Central.

I got a warning the first day I got my licence. Accidently went through a red light with a cop in the intersection. He let me slide with a warning though.

In Sweden they would have revoked your license for that.
They did that to a friend of mine, he was doing 60KM/h on a 30KM/h road (kilometers per hour).
So now he doesn't have a driving licence and the court will decide how long he has to wait to redo his drivers test (Sweden has some toughest test in europe, even the world i would think, takes about 3-6 months to go through all the crap) which might be in like 2-4 years.

Hey, he was going twice the speed limit. I wasn't quite there yet! biggrin:

Seriously though, that sucks. I'd die without my license. Actually, I really wouldn't. I walk to work every day.

OMFG Sclass is finally making some sence. I think you were right Noctis Shifty is taking his retardness.
Well in my state if you get caught doing 2x the limit its wreckless driving and if its near other people, they could get you for endangerment of human life. Revoke your liscense, throw you in jail, fine you, and forget about you.
ANd for the past week there have been cops sitting outside my school like a flys on a dead body. They check every car to make sure peple are wearing their seatblets. Greenlight or not they check you. Now a 10 minute line to get into the parkinglot is 20 minutes

Well sin't a 30 KM/H zone a school or playgrond zone? it is in Canada. If your doing double the speedlimit in a school/playground zone, they'll probably take away your licence here as well.

I got a ticket last October for doing 78km/h in a 60km/h zone. It was $97. I didn't argue with the cop. He said "do you know why I pulled you over" I said "yes for speeding." Gave me a ticket and I left.

I got pulled over 3 times in a 6 month period by 3 difference law enforcemnt agencies a couple of years ago. The first was a sheriff that pulled me over for turning right on red at an intersection that was posted as no right on red. The second was a city police pulled me for speeding (20 mph over) and the third was a state trooper pulled me for pulling a trailer with no brake lights or tag (borrowed to move).

The sheriff was a good ol' boy that told m he couldnt let me break the law in front of him and not pull me, but he wasnt going to give me a ticket and let me go. The city cop didnt write me the speeding ticket, which could have easily been $150, but wrote me a non-moving violation for wrong address on my license for $60 (not a bad deal, but not great). The state trooper wrote me up for everything he could, which was 2 $60 tickets.

You win some, you lose some. Before those tickets, I probably got out of a half dozen moving violations with a warning and I havent had any points on my license for many years. Just lucky I guess.
