Default Bazooka hitscan - 06-17-2003, 01:09 AM

Hi! I tried out some bazooka direct hit stuff and I noticed that it doesn't matter when you hit, it always takes out the health value of hitdamage. So projectiles does not seem to have hitscan stuff like bullets do. But is it possible to make so that it matters where you hit (leg, chest, head etc) with bazooka? Thanks!

Hmm, another question...is it possible to edit bullets? Like their size or something. Is there a file that controls stuff like that?

No, I don't mean ammo display. Hmm...I'm trying to add some effects to the bullets. It could be easily done with projectiles but they don't support hitscanning oOo:

i don't think you can do it because projectiles have a hit-radius when they explode, which is different from a bullet.

I am sure you could simply tweak some settings to match those of a bullet. I believe that the Pak0/global/BulletHit.scr file might support damage zones. Check it out.

No, the idea was to make it server-side.

I know that file, but I haven't found out how to call that file. Don't even know which file calls that for bullets. I tried searching all files that include "bullethit.scr" but windows didn't find any oOo:

If your end goal is to have the rockets shoot bullets, then that should be easy enough to setup. Please explain the end result you are looking for so that we can help you the best we can.

My main goal is to set pistols to shoot some kind of a flare light bullets. As far as I know, it's not possible to modify bullets so I would have to modify rocket projectiles. It didn't take many seconds for me to edit rocket projectiles into little flare bullets but the problem is that there is no hitscan. The bullets look cool but the target looses the very same amount of health no matter where he gets shot. That's the main problem/goal, hope you understood.
