I listen to Black Metal. It may sound similar to Death Metal, but the lyrics are different. Black Metal is usually about the lies of religion and the darkness of the human heart and has a more poetic approch to lyrical writing. While Death Metal is usually filled with gruesom depictions of death and destruction.

Here are some of my BM fav's.

"The soul is never silent but wordless. Held imprisoned in a cursed tomb wherein reflections never fade, never die, slowly maddened by the emptiness" ~Emperor

"Glance into the blackness hidden beneath your surface and enjoy the suffering. Sanity drained in disrespect." ~Dimmu Borgir

"Welcome to the sacrificed world. Those beneath the holy ground, buried in the dirt of the mortal's sin. Just like a dream in mysterious splendour crosses the line to dimensional glory." ~Old Man's Child
no.
you're mixing up GRIND/BRUTAL metal with death.
Death metal is not grind.
for example, the greatest DEATH metal band, "Death", have you seen their lyrics??
is Symbolic really about gore?
no.
