<BLOCKQUOTE><font size="1" face="Tahoma, Verdana, Arial">quote:</font><HR>OFP is a good game for single player but for MP it sucks. It can take you 30 - 45 mins just to get into a game. MOH you can get in a game almost as fast as you can clik your mouse.<HR></BLOCKQUOTE>
Blame Gamespy, not OFP. I do have some difficulty getting a pick-up game there, but I manage to eventually. The main reason is that OFP has AI packets to send and that's more for a server to handle. Now I have a core group of friends and we play direct ip every night. No lag.
Thing is, OFP muliplayer owns MOHAA in every way imaginable, so much so I'm sorry I bought MOHAA.
Why play deathmatch/ctf with the kiddies when I can get a much more involved game with my already uber-optimized UT ? And, if so inclined, I can play on the MOD of UT called Infiltration and be the wwII guy.
Mohaa is the same ol, with pretty graphics that I can't even see most of using my P4 1k and 256 RAM.
OFP has co-op. Intense co-op. Very smart AI bots. You can drive tanks, jeeps, trucks, armored vehicles. Hell you can fly Apache's, UH60's, Hinds, A-10's... all kinds of things. AND have very smart AI in your group that follow orders and help. Damn AI fly's better than I do still.
Then there's the mission editor. An insane community that can make missions, (single or multi, even campaigns), that come to be far better than what BIS could come up with.
Then there's addon's. Winter, Jungle, all types of camo's...
In a month the SDk comes out. Imagine the future.
After OFP I've burned out on the basic FPS, and that is what MOHAA is. You ooo and ahhh over the graphics for about 15 mins, then it's same ol thing.

you "realism" people make me wanna hurl! Games are for entertainment, not a look into the life of an infantryman. If you want realism, join the military. If your in the military, and want your games to be like that, then forget about it. Otherwise just enjoy the damn game. The game is to be played for entertainment, and to blow off steam or what not. It's not meant for you to lose yourself into like an RPG. Get over it, or play something else..thank you for your time.
Hope out

Ultra-realistic game - now wouldnt that be cool. I wonder how many players would pass level 1 without having brains splattered all over the place. Of course the game would die then too, you cant retry in real war either. Ah well, all for the realism, hurray...

Agreed, most of the people who complain about the realism, have no idea how hard it is to code AI to handle advanced tactical situations. There's a reason why military simulators use multithousand processor to create their tactical simulation programs, while running crappy graphics and costing millions. If you want a computer to push close to realistic battle tactics in near real time, buy a supercomputer and learn advance AI programming, or as previously stated join the Army.
This is just a game, a great game, but still just a game!!!
Oh ya quick question, somebody mentioned Ghost Recon. How is it??? Is it worth downloading the demo?

Who mentioned realism? I just want more options.
My idea of blowing off steam is getting into 3 cobra's with friends and nuking the hell out of an enemy compound, watching them drop like flies, then chasing after the stragglers ala death from above.
Or slowling inching PRONE over the crest of a hill and seeing 40 plus soon-to-be-dead ai badguys below thinking they're safe.
Or crawling my way through a vietcong jungle camp and shooting everything you THINK might have moved.
Or sitting comfortable and have an enemy jeep come and try to ruin your day and you shoot the driver and watch the jeep spin off the road.
All these impossible in mohaa. All a given in OFP.
I understand the need for mindless dm, just saying I have UT that covers that.

This is just a $40 dollar product, running on $1000 machines. People expect Star Trek Holodeck realism, but were not going to have that until we all get home versions of IBM's Deep Blue (Chess supercomputer). This is game is not revolutionary but very evolutionary. It's raising the bar one more peg with it's graphics and sound quality.

Ghost Recon just won IGN's Game Of the Year for 2001. I have had the game since it came out and really enjoy it. The mulitplayer is great, especially if you have some buddies to play with. The first patch is suppose to be out in a week. Will fix various things and add some small stuff. Redstorm has also already announced that they will be releasing the tools to make new maps. A mission editor (IGOR) came with the game. There are some pretty good new missions already out there. It is worth checking out.

The Emperor has no clothes! MOHAA is so cookie cutter it's not even funny. It's the exact same gameplay as games that have come out 5 or 6 years ago on Playstation. There's not a single thing groundbreaking here, just a new skin on an old worn out product. Yes, I did play the on-line demo. But , what can you really tell about gameplay by a bunch of suicidal hacks dying and respawning every 15 seconds? And your certainly not going to get an honest review of an EA product by any mag or game site prior to it's release. EA wields to much advertising $$$ to put up with anything less than stellar reviews of their crappy rehashed games. As for the AI, it's non existant. Let's see, I'm a German officer, I'm sitting with 2 soldiers. We hear an exchange of gunfire in the courtyard about 15 feet from us , just outside our door. Do we get up to investigate or continue to sit and chat then jump up in suprise when the enemy bursts in to slaughter us? Or, let'see, we sneak around in the shadows to avoid being detected by spotlights (as if the guards didn't just hear a prolonged gunbattle), then we use explosives to blow open a gate, run through, and then start sneaking around again. HELLO! And can anyone tell me where to get a compass that points to my next objective, that thing would work great in bars, better yet I'll give one to all my employees! I've just un-installed this stupid joke of a game from my hard drive and I haven't even gotten to the beach landing yet.
PS: Duh, let's all just stand in the open and start blasting, it's really fun!

After waiting several months fot this game, Im honestly very disappointed. I was never much for FPS games until I happened across OFP and now I guess OFP has kind of spoiled me against anything else out. Yes, the graphics are nice and the sound but just running around blasting everything in a scripted theatre gets old very quickly. There are really no realistic tactics involved and the medical kit "power box" idea is old and just ridiculous if this game wants to be taken seriously. Definitely not nearly as emersive as OFP. Just another forgettable arcade-like mall game. Typical EA hype for a weak product.

I hate when people like you post complaining topics for games like MOHAA
Maybe if you like full realism Why dont you join a painball group and stop playing FPS games in your PC, or maybe join the army
For God sake, it is only a PC game that do you will expect in the future, your monitor bleed???
C´mon, dont blame EA for his excellent work and if you wanto realism in games, why dony you study how to maka games aand then you´ll receive stupid complaints as you here.

Im not getting the game for its single player or its scripts. When I played the Multiplayer Demo, then I was hooked on this game.
Once you played a Online game you will never really enjoy a singelplayer again.

well i dont know ...but maybe after waiting for this game for several months you should have known this game was going to be far from opf ?
you see ...thats the problem with most of these "i'm disappointed" threads . most of the disappointment comes from the his/her own failure to really look into the game before trying it .

I've got to agree with b0n0. I'm far from being a seasonned FPS and I'm finishing the missions without any problems (@ medium - will restart @ hard soon I think - usually do them @ easy).
But it's online where the real fun is. I'm hooked on that though!
Also, can you have the CPR mod running for single player? (Would add realism to it)

To compare this with OPF is just silly. And about realism this game never said a tactical FPS.....OPF is in a different genre with Ghost Recon and Rogue Spear and games likethat where you get shot in the leg you limp type stuff. And about health pack i dont like them but i still consider this a great game very polished not many bugs and on top of that do you even play OPF online? it sucks................just try waiting 30 min for a game just to be disconnected from it bah weak..you cant compare apple with oranges and a little tip before i go GET THE DAMN DEMO BEFORE YOU BUY THE GAME. Not too hard is it if your disappointed with the games its your own fault.
