Default Editing Player Skin names - 08-11-2003, 03:31 AM

Hello, I just recent bought the game and I've downloaded tons of player skins and maps, all of them are insanely perfect and only encourage me to keep playing. The best part is the realism these give me. I have a few questions and I'm sure they've been asked before so I'm sorry if I annoy anyone with these redundant questions.

1- I'm a neat freak and very organized, so when I download player skins and the title in the skin selection is: "german_bob's_hitler", is there a way for me to change it to: "german_adolfhitler"? I know some people would think that anybody could steal others' skins but for me, this is just an organizational issue.

2- I downloaded tutorials on map making and player skin making and I have just started to fiddle with the options. When I download maps and skins, I like things to be historically accurate. Has anybody found a website with incredibly great skins and maps that are very real?

to change the name of a skin you need to rename the .tik files.

In order to get to the .tik's you need a program like packscape or winzip to open up the .pk3... find models/player/ inside here will be at least 2 .tik's

one will be named german_bobs_hitler.tik, the other german_bobs_hitler_fps.tik

you will need to reaname both files to

german_hitler.tik and german_hitler_fps.tik respectivly... save your changes and thats it, you've renamed your file anyother questions? email me
