Believe it or not, it is just about that simple.

If you have Windows XP or 2000, chances are there's some sort of drivers already installed on the OS, and all you need do is swap the cards. If you open the case, just find the card that has the blue VGA port coming out of it. And, when you buy most well-known video cards (Nvidia or ATI-based), they come with documentation to show you how to do this, as well, complete with pictures.
