[quote="ED!":f50bc][quote:f50bc]why again should piracy be ISPs' main concern?
Does it cause more monetary damage than hackers?
what about viruses?
do you have proof that it caouses more damage?[/quote:f50bc]
Do you have proof that it doesnt. No see I'm not gonna use that kinda bullshit logic I'll let you take that route. Youre arguing an intagible point my friend, one that deals in unquantifiable values. I'm looking at fact. FACT is people are breaking the law. Fact is law enforcement agencies are chartered to go after these people who break the law. Fact is potential sales COULD translate into real dollars and real dollars arent going to their rightful owners. Fact is there already are divisions in the FBI to handle BOTH cases presented before you so NO there are no "omg put down that Hacker-Tracer-2000B Bob, we've got Kazaa users to catch!". Fact is as harmful as hackers are, there are CARTELS of music/softare/digital media providers operating in more than one country, and the trafficking of this information is big business.

"A study released earlier this month by Information Week Research reported that hacker attacks cost the world economy a whopping $1.6 trillion this year. The most costly culprit in terms of total dollar value is the virus.
The so-called Love Bug virus, proliferated by e-mail earlier this year, caused an estimated $2.61 billion in damage."

unquantifiable huh?
"Industry estimates indicate the software industry worldwide loses
$12,000 million annually from all types of piracy, he said, and the
music industry estimates losses at $4,100 million annually."

I will let the statistics speak for themselves.
once again, I am not talking about the FBI, I am talking about individual ISPs who have to participate actively in stopping hackers, pirates, or both.
If you think ISPs have extra employees who sit around waiting for RIAA to make another "request" then that picture pertains more to you than me.
