Yes, obviously when someones using a weapon a majority of the time you're gonna be seeing them from some kind of distance, the 3rd person weapons not gonna be 2 inches from your face at all really. So they basically just make a lower poly version of it , less polys = better frame rate. Mohaa is the only fps i know off, offhand that actually uses the first person perspective models in 3rd person as well. When someones firing a karbiner in mohaa if you watch them fire the bolt gets cycled and it actually moves as it would in first person perspective, unlike most games where all you get is the player model waving its hand about going through the motions. Nice detail though.
