Here's the problem..

but first here's my current set up

Linksys Router, Cable modem and only 2 computers on the network...

At first I was running one copy of MoH:AA on both computers but during online play the computer who connected 2nd would get booted like every 15 minutes.

I did some research and thought that was the problem. So I went out and purchased a second copy of MoH:AA. I loaded it on the 2nd PC but when both computers connect online.. I still have the same problem.

MoH:AA boots the 2nd computer..

It's getting quite annoying and I was hoping someone has experienced this same problem and has a fix action for it.

Are you running the server on one PC, and then joining on the other, or are they both joining just random servers?

It's on any random server and we have never run a server off the network.

It has to do with IP sharing. Since both computers are using the same IP, the one last to connect will get booted. Thats your problem. You might have to use a proxy for that second computer, but I am not positive if that will work with MOH.

Nope, I dunno what exactly causes it, but when you join a game online, your proxy IP will not apply, it traces right to your actual IP given to you from your ISP.

I play two computers through a router to the same server all the time and don't have a problem so it can't be an IP sharing problem.

hmm sindo and body karate use to have this problem on the aa.com ... but i would boot both of them ...

i have a linksys but never tried to play two games ... in the router setup try forwarding 12203 to the second computer and see what happens. ive never had to forward any ports to play but this is the only thing i can think of.

open ie and goto 182.168.1.1 . go to the advanced tab then forwarding. im not sure what ports moh listens on besides 12203 ... might have to look for that somewhere like mohadmin.com. check here for more info on your router .. i think in the faq or support section they have info on forwarding for games...

This is a common problem for certain routers. The fix is to assign the net_port to each machine. Heres the info from Q3, just do the translation for MOH:

How to set up Quake III for multiple users behind a NAT firewall

Typically, many Quake III users have been reporting that Quake III is unable to support multiple player connections from behind a NAT. While the first player behind the NAT joins fine, adding additional players is problematic in the default configuration. Symptoms include rejected challenges, dropped delta packets, and severe "connection interrupted" messages.

By default, Quake III clients send and receive data over the same port, causing the server to treat multiple clients as a single data connection. Quake III does have the ability to specify individual client ports for communication by adding a command line switch. Follow the procedure below to add this switch.

1. Right click on the QIII icon

2. Choose "Properties"

3. In the Target field you'll see a line like "C:\Program Files\Quake III Arena\quake3.exe"

4. Add the Quake III net_port command to specify a unique communication port for each system. The complete field should look like this: "C:\Program Files\Quake III Arena\quake3.exe" +set net_port 27660

5. Click OK.

6. Repeat for each system behind the NAT, adding one to the net_port selected (27660,27661,27662)
