I hate christmas songs -
12-03-2003, 09:30 AM
What Christmas songs drive you nuts? I don't mind the traditional stuff like Hark the heralds etc. But all this modern and 80s/50s reject bs drives me insane, my work place plays them non stop.
Here's a list of the ones I loathe
1.) Drummer boy, (the one that goes I'm just a poor boy or somethin let me play my drum) This is my most hated song and it makes me wana strangle any kids that come into my vicinity.
2.) Last Christmas by Wham, after hearing it for the 10000000th time.
3.) Live aid, do they know it's Christmas time at all?
4.) Any 50's songs by Frank Sinatra
6.) Stop the cavalry, not too bad but still annoys me
7.) Any xmas songs by Cliff Richard, Christmas time, mistletoe & wine oOo:
8.) That song by Bing Crosby, White Christmas or something.
What ones do you hate?

funny, I actually sort of like the classics (the Blue Christmas one not counting)
to me THE most annoying song was the "I want a hippopotamus for Christmas" one.
I remember my 8th grade Algebra teacher played that over and over and over again starting around Thanksgiving time. mad:
My chemistry/physics teacher was next door, and she was so annoyed she almost authorized my friends and I to go on a commando raid to take and break the CD biggrin:

Dude... Sinatra was a pimp. I also like Mannheim Steamroller and Trans-Siberian Orchestra. BUT the closer it gets to Christmas the more I hate all Christmas music because I'm sick of hearing it every-god-damn-where I go.

at my old job, they played christmas songs done by Mariah Carrey, and Celine Dion and crap like that, it was very annoying, in my opinion they ruined many a classic tune....
and yeah that dog barking jingle bells sucked, i cant believe that was released to the public, i had a casio keyboard in 1987 that did that at the touch of a button, you could make any song in dog barks....lol

Ah, to be 11 again... biggrin:

Frank and Bing are the greatest man. Christmas or not.
If you cant stand Christmas music , and I know how you feel , go with all instramental. Skip the words all togather.
You end up with the spirit and feelings the music should provide , but without the annoyance that comes with repeted vocals.
