you could try changing your modem,if its a emr or pmr(cant remember the name but it has its own little brown slot on mobo's)they suck or if its a software modem then they do lag more than an hardware one.you could try a different isp most have free trials and some lag more than others
if broadband isnt an option then look at isdn its a little more expensive but brought my ping down to under 100 before i got broadband
