I need help getting the OpenGL to work. I installed the drivers for open gl from nvidia and I get this same message while trying to start the game..

doesn't matter which version of detonator ( 23.12 is most recent official ) but you just need to reinstall it.

Happened to after I installed rtcw too.

reinstall, reboot and works perfectly
