When I try to start a game, load a saved game, view credits, or anything like that; the game locks up and my Network Connections box pops up on my screen. Is there anyway that I can fix this so I can play? It just started doing this.
yea even in SP MOH tries to connect to the internet when you start a mission - I don't think anyone knows exactly what info is being sent back and forth.
swingline - the game tries to connect to the internet i think - have you tried connecting on your modem first - then starting the game? this way your network connections won't pop up because you are already connected to the internet.

Doesn't matter. For some unanswered reason, SP tries to access the internet.
Do you have this problem in MP?
Do you have XP's personal firewall enabled? Are you running another firewall? Your settings might be too high on either and that's locking it up...maybe.
Try hitting Esc as soon as it locks up. I'm having the same problem. I hit Esc, then after a few seconds it takes off. Hope this works for you, and I honestly hope the publishers will start fixing bugs like this before worrying about patching multiplayer.
The dial up deal is a bug. Some people with win 98/ME have changed their dial up settings to "never dial a connection" and that "fixed" the problem for them but I have found that that "trick" doesnt work on my Win XP pro system. I have sent emails to EA with no sucess and posted on many forums about this so I know that they are aware of this problem let's hope they patch it.
For now what I do to get by is as soon as I select the skill level I hit the space bar when the dail up starts and it will kill the connection. It may dial if your not fast enough but it will hang up as soon as it's done and the game will start. Not sure why this works but it does.
Not a fix but it is better than what EA is doing for us which to this point is nothing.
