That's because they use forced models. If your in game and have a custom skin that the other person does not have, you would be invisible. Everybody knows now to check forced modles so this does not happen

Wasn't the invisible player bug fixed with the 1.1 patch by assigning the unknown skin to the default player model?

What would be real cool would be something like forced models in that the skins are set on my system, but allow more than one skin on a team. For instance I'd like to have a mix of german skins within a service(different faces and ranks) and a likewise mix of American skins. It doesn't seem real when everyone looks exactly the same. On the other hand, I hate having mismatched services (what's that Afika corp, Wehrmacht winter sniper, and Camo SS guy doing together). Also on the Snowy Park level, if someone has a winter skin it gives them a BIG advantage. Sure you could use it too, but he might have forced models and you stand out in your Afrika Corp uniform he put on you.

Yeah I like the new skins, but some people download an ally looking skin and play with it as a axis. Other than that I like them.

There were three of us with different skins.

We all looked the same to each other. the default 2nd div troop.

Something is wrong, did with and with out compressed textures and no forced models.

You are very visible to others no matter what you have on.

What now guys, you skinners got the answers?
My detail and all that stuff is set high or max.

clans will have to communicate,
so everyone d,loads eachothers skins
and puts them on their puters.
I'm working on clan based mods at the minute,
axis and allies.rank and file

I never use force models and I've never run into someone who was 'invisible.' But acutally, I have been invisible once. It was really weird. On my screen, the gun wouldn't show up, it only showed the hands holding nothing. I could shoot, and it showed dirt kicking up where the bullets hit, but I couldn't kill. Also, since I was invisible, noone shot at me, but if I stepped into somones line of fire when they were shooting, I died. When I respawned, everything we normal agina,...it was weird. Anyone else ever had that happend?
But anyway, do people generally download the skins? I don't remember any time when I've seen another custom skin in MP.

Folks if you're not, you're letting the rest of us down.

Some of these skins are really nice with all equiptment where it belongs. They are very easy to load too.

Those of you that play on the servers with the realism mods, could you at least wear the appropriate uniforms? Snow suits and desert garb kind of kills the atmosphere,if you know what I mean.

I've been running the skins sometime now and have never seen anybody in the new uniforms. Do I need to turn off texture compression?

Make sure you have forced models UNCHECKED. but be careful, if you don't have the same mod as them, you may not be able to see them, They will be invisible.

lol .. they wont be invisible ...if someone uses a model that someone else doesnt have
the game simply chooses the default 1's for either side and shows it.

it has been suggested that some people were invisible in multiplayer - then it was suggested that this occured because they were using skins that the others did not have - because of this people started putting "force models" on, and I decided not to get any skins because i did not want to risk being showing up in games invisible.
