uhmm its a mod(more of a total conversion) to half life.
MoH is using the q3 engine, doesnt that make it "just a quake3 mod"?

Heh, Madrebel I assume you are being sarcastic about MoH being a q3 mod 'cos it uses the Q3 engine.
That'd be like saying Half-Life was a Quake mod 'cos it used the Quake engine...

There is nothing wrong with DoD. It has never once messed anything up on my system or crashed.
Half Life on the Quake engine huh. Well it started out on Quake but it pretty much became its own because it was modified almost entirely. So it is pretty much the Half Life Engine now. Anyway Mohaa and DoD are both great games. So play them both!!

In regards to the question at issue:
Day of Defeat gives Medal of Honor a run for its money if what you want is a more realism-based, objective-orientated, team-centric multiplayer game set in a World War II environment. And this assumes graphics are not an issue for you.
Medal of Honor, on the other hand, is more action-orientated, does less to promote team-based play, and is less objective-focused. It also has graphics that will knock your socks off.
So again, it depends on what you are looking for.
Day of Defeat is a total conversion of Half-Life, in much the same way Counterstrike and Team Fortress Classic are. That being the case, the graphics are dated by today's standards. That doesn't mean it looks bad; not by any means. DoD's Normandy level looks nice enough, and there are a few wrecked town and village levels that look great. None, however, hold a candle to MoH when it comes to pure eye-candy.
Day of Defeat uses a more realistic combat system and damage more accurately reflects real life. There are no health packs. A short burst from an automatic weapon can kill you fast. And so on.
Medal of Honor, meanwhile, is less realistic and more arcade-like in its combat system. It makes for a faster pace and a quicker game; less thoughtful, less planning, more crazed charges. (No respawns on some maps help counter that, however)
Day of Defeat does more to promote team gaming in several ways. One, of course, is that the whole point is team combat. It's all objective-based scenarios, and the game utilizes a brilliant respawn system that always respawns the dead in groups.
Medal of Honor does less to promote team-based gameplay. Hell, most of its maps are straight deathmatch maps. The game tracks very little as far as the team goes, focusing on kills instead. Several threads here have discussed this.
All in all, Day of Defeat is a very, very worthy game that Medal of Honor fans craving realism should, at the very least, check out. I like Medal of Honor's look and feel and mechanics a lot more, but I adore DoD's team-based play and great objective-orientated boards.
But remember, Day of Defeat is not yet a commercial product; it was made by the mod community. Medal of Honor may yet get its own version. (We can hope)

This shouldn't even be a question. What is wrong with you? I downloaded DOD. I play it say NEVER! Just play MOHAA and be happy with what you got.

LOL.....
How does DOD even come close to Mohaa????
It doesn't have singleplayer....
It is a MOD....
DOD graphics are a lot worse than MOHAA graphics....
The water is realistic, not solid green....
You want more????

Let's see, BMillis, what we can say here:
"It doesn't have singleplayer..."
Okay, fine. Deal with it from a multiplayer point of view. Most *know* Day of Defeat is a multipplayer game
"It is a MOD"
And your point is? There are loads of wonderful games that began as mods. One could argue easily enough that games using another game's engine are little more than total conversions. Why is Day of Defeat's MOD status a bad thing? And will that change when it is on store shelves as a commercial product (as it will be)?
"DOD graphics are a lot worse than MOHAA graphics"
Really and truly, YAWN. I like great graphics, I pay attention to great graphics, but in the end graphics mean exactly _squat_ compared to great gameplay. I'd rather play a game that plays well and is entertaining than a game that looks stunning but lacks substance any day. None of this, mind you, means Medal of Honor is a good-looking game without subtance ... for you folks ready to jump, I am talking in the general, not about MoH.
"The water is realistic, not solid green"
Yeah, nice, but that's the same as your last point. It's a graphics issue. And graphics do not mean a damn thing in the face of a good game.
"You want more????"
Yes. But not more question marks, because they are a sign of near illiteracy.

hmm well by grafics mohaa kills DoD, but i think i have more fun playing DoD, probably cause of the mobile MGs. i have fun playing both though. But remember while both moh and dod are ww2 based they are not the same. Moh is arcade style warfare and dod is trying more on realism.

Comparing MoHAA to DoD in the MP aspect is quite simple really. DoD kills MoHAA.
