next time you go to the driving range take out a 7 iron. place a small object about an inch in front of the ball. ( i use a broken tee) The idea is this. When you swing the club make the path of the club head down through the ball also hitting the small object in front of the ball.

The reason for this is it will make you stay down on the ball resulting in a much cleaner impact with the ball and also increse the distance and control of the shot.

This excersise is best done in the grass but can also be done on the hitting mats.

Ill no doubt get flamed for an honest answer to a question. When you find out how well this works you can pm me and ill give you a few more things that will improve your game.
Your sig sucks!!

Sorry you wanted to be flamed, but seriously I don't think the immature goons here will flame you for that response. I know I've tried that when I start hitting patches off of the grass.

Also, besides keeping your front arm straight, and head down in a line with the club, keep your wrists absolutely still on the backswing.

People have a tendency to move their wrists ever so slightly during the swing, because it feels uncomfortable. This will cause you to either slice or hook the ball. No matter how awkward it feels, keep your wrists in the same position you had them at the beginning stance, and work from their.
