I was playing the MP last night and my ping was jumping around like crazy, It would go from 60 to 600 in a flash. I'm connected throught a ethernet and I am used to never going over 100 ping. It really ruined the experience, anyone know what the deal is? And on a side note, is ethernet considered a LAN connection or what? Thanks!

I hade the same problem. I have cable and a pretty heavy system, but i noticed some lag. It turned out my ping was near the 1000! But not only my ping, the pings of all the players. So, i think it's the server's problem. If you connect to another server, the problem might be solved.

Yeah, I will try that, but I was the only one having the high ping. A similar thing has happened with my WinMX program. I used to be able do download a pretty large song in a matter of minutes, it now crawls along at 3 or 4 k/s. Any other ideas on this crazyness? *bump*

I am a college student using an ethernet connection, and it sucks. Our school's server is a piece, and speed is always varying. I find the best time to play is in the morning or wee hours of night, but still it's a bit suspect. Not much to do about it, as I have a bangin' system myself. Try and get people on your LAN to play with you.

ColinXP the winmx problems you are having comes from one reason: The people you download from has a bad connection. If you download from someone who shares with full bandwidth and has cable++ you will get fast speeds
