I would strongly recommend you use Elite1's patch v4.0. It's awesome. Instead of just "puffs" this mod creates an actual splatter.
To install it just unzip the .pk3 file into the "main" directory of MOHAA. Then just run the game and it will automatically take effect without you doing anything.

I agree, use elites v4. It absolutly rocks. [zero]cool will be coming out with a nicer version of his as well. It will definatly be worth a look.

Doh..forgot to say, just unzip it to your mohaa/main folder. You will see other .pk3 files there. MOHAA will see it and automatically load it next time it starts.

Regarding the Blood Mods:

Please forgive my ignorance and my newbie status. MOH 1 + MOHU are my favorite all time games so I will be purchasing MOHAA today and installing a new graphics card. Anyhow, it seems as though there are so many blood mods out there, as they get better or new versions come out, will the new version replace the old one once installed or should it be removed first. Also, are there any other mods out there that anyone can suggest for a beginner?

Blood mods add blood to the game. After you kill someone there is blood left on the ground and the walls. Some have blood spurting from bodies when you shoot them.

They can be downloaded from this site. Download the file then unzip the .pk3 file that's inside to your mohaa/main directory. That's it. When Mohaa starts it will see it there and automatically load it.

I recommend you download Elite's blood mod. It's very good.

any blood mod is the same. you will download a .pk3 and you just put that into your "main" folder in your game directory. you dont have to delete any blood mods but you might want to delete the old ones if you get a new one. You CAN though have a lot of blood mods going at the same time, works good, get a good combo though.
