is it just me or do games like these take no skill at all. run around the map at the speed of light and blow people away. i downloaded ut2004 yesterday when i was bored, most pointless game ive played. i know medal of honor doesnt take to much to be good but alot more than these games. the same with the newest tribes. pretty gay.

Id like to see you even get a kill in Tribes 1. Game takes plenty of skill to be good at everything and also to play your part in your team.

MOH you play for yourself usually, Tribes you play as a team if you want to win.

Ut-99 > ut-2004 by far, i dunno what it is but these new incarnations for unreal for all the new graphics and vehicles and shit, just doesn't have the feel that made the original unreal tournament so fun to play.

As for tribes ive no fucking idea what the story is there, run about firing frisbee's at people. eek:

he's got a point sorta. All these new games out, like Doom multiplayer,quake3,Unreal04,Call of Duty,etc.... Most of them are just run around and jump in the air spraying, and in the case of Call of Duty, jump in the air and then prone all while still shooting with amazing 100% accuracy. While Medal of Honor was sorta like that, it more or less was jump in the air with a shotgun while leaning to a fro.... Hopefully HL2 will be sweet especially with dod source

Bleh dod has turned into a steaming pile of shit. Kar and enfield for the win and fuck all else matters. Be as well playing quake 3 instagib with railguns because thats all dod has turned into

Ok if thats the case then, the original halflife, for the time it had very good graphics, its also still considered to this day the best first person shooter to ever appear on the pc. If good graphics = shitty gameplay why wasn;t that the case with halflife? Could say the same for farcry, it was rated highy, has really good graphics and most reviewers loved it.

I beg to differ good sir. I can more then rack up kills with a pistol, then I can a kar. With the new updates they've lessend the accuracy of the bolt action rifles, exluding sniper rifles I think. Right now I'm more into playing mp40/bar and sometimes I dabble in the area of a garand. The key to playing dod and getting kars to miss is peaking in and out and just being generally faster then the other.

Example: I pop my shoulder on a corner, kar takes a shot and AT best wounds me through the thick corner, why he rechambers you just gotta be faster then him.
