i wasnt sure where to post this question, but it is about "owning" a server or a server box.

is there a place to like purchase a server or a server box, that you can like own for yourself and have in your home or something..... so like you can setup your own server whenever you want.... or to rephrase this, how does a gaming server company get started?... like how do they get their servers. sry if thats confusing haha, but i was just wondering about this.

You don't need a license from EA or anyone else.If you already have a home network, all you need is a computer to run a dedicated game on. I have three computers connected to a router, on one I run a dedicated server and I connect to the server, with the others, with the LAN button. As my router is also connected to my cable modem ( and I have the right ports opened up) other people can connect across the internet. On a cable connection you will opnly get about 8 players on your dedicated server before you run out of bandwidth. Good luck.
