[quote:8a5c8]The other part is that, at a cost of about $260m (£142m) each, the Raptor is designed to fight a potential Soviet enemy that no longer exists, and a Third World War that - if it ever happens - will be very different from what could have been imagined in 1981. [/quote:8a5c8]

Yeah I remember reading something about it being cancelled too, that's why this news story caught my eye.

I still prefer an ah6.
But for a jet, I'll take an FA-22 Raptor any day. happy:

Stay out of my foxhole, pal!

Your probably thinking of the Commanche being canceled.

[quote:ee15b]Not at all.

RAH-66 Comanche > All [/quote:ee15b]

Which would make this statment false. Seeing how it will never enter service.

i think its a waste of money, they could have used that funding for some TIE fighters or something. Whats wrong with the F18 and its variations? Or the F14? We have a good closet full of toys, wtf is the use of another jet? that money could have been used to scrap that stupid Osprey and give some helos that can fly w/o killing marines.

dude it cant be worthless now, just keep watching Top Gun over and over again. "I feel the need, the need, for omfg speedy baby!!!!11" Plus they put in that kickass multiple targeting system to knock out 6 planes at once. You can still dogfight and bomb the hell out of shit in an F14. Plus, i think Tomcat is the best name we have for our jets now. Raptor is gay, all i can think of is Jeff Goldblum.
