Default Iraq's Saddam Says He Is Unmoved by U.S. Threats - 08-08-2002, 10:14 AM

BAGHDAD (Reuters) - President Saddam Hussein ( news - web sites) said on Thursday he was not frightened by U.S. threats to topple his administration and warned that those who attacked Iraq would be "digging their own graves." (sure saddam sure  )

Marking the anniversary of the end of the 1980-88 Iran-Iraq war, Saddam called for "equitable dialogue" with the United Nations  ( news - web sites) but made no new offers in response to international calls for weapons inspectors to be allowed back into Iraq.

what they dont tell you is after his speech he went into his office and called his mother, telling her "I shit my pants i'm so scared, mommy help me"

Well, if he truly isnt scared, he should be. I dont think Bush is screwing around, and an attack will certainly come, the sooner the better as far as I am concerned. Saddam has been in power for far too long and his "administration (dictatorship)" needs to be eradicated along with him.
Simply letting in weapons inspectors isnt going to change anything. 1992 - 2002, plenty of time to construct secret labs to develop weapons. I think the Europeans are being completely thick headed in their false hopes of being able to freely get weapons inspectors inside Iraq.

They will once again be fucked around by Saddam and his goons and find nothing. Sure, Saddam welcomes them with open arms but his toes are crossed and he is laughing inside saying "these Western pig dogs are more stupid than I could have imagined". Dont trust an Arab, they'll stab you in the back, THAT has been proven.... Kuwait gets invaded now they are in bed with Saddam along with Saudi Arabia who called America in the FIRST PLACE to intervene, touching really.

But dont mind my ramblings, I love watching people getting fucked over by murdering bastards, hilarious stuff really.

i'm sure that the fact he could launch a few SCUDs into their capital loaded with some bio weapons doesn't help them support taking him out.

nah, he's probably sitting in a school or a hospital where he knows he's safe. that's what he does, he'll build weapons labs underneath hospitals, put SAM sites at mosques, in residential neighborhoods etc.

Sorry to rain on the parade, I don't like Saddam, but I don't think the US can really justify invading Iraq. The logic of "he may have or may be devoloping weapon of mass destruction" just doesn't fly. Should we invade China first, they are a bigger threat than Iraq. Mabye we should invade Russia, to make sure all their nukes and biological weopons are destroyed. Just because Cheney and Pappa Bush have a personal vendetta, is no reason to start a war. The reasoning I'm hearing from Washington, says to me, someone ought to invade the US and replace Cheney/Bush because they have access to nukes and bio weopons. I strongly suggest that people step back and think it through. War is wrong, and killing innocent people because you want to prove you have a bigger dick than someone else is stupid.

I know that you all think I'm wrong, but somebody has to speak out against this kind of thing, I am an American, I and I am proud of what Amerca stands for, I don't want to see America become a state that uses its military to "remove" whomever, they don't happen to like at the time, from power.

I bet when saddam is found hiding in a corner by our troops he'll be protecting himself by using two small children as human shiels.

We are'nt going to go into Iraq to kill inoccents low spark, and we are'nt the only ones who want Sodamn gone, like bean said Blair wants him out also, so do groups in Iraq and most likely the Iraqi people themselve its just that if they speak out against him they die.

From historyguy.com, regarding the Gulf War:
[quote:991a9]CONSEQUENCES OF CONFLICT:

1. Saddam's second war of foreign conquest ended even worse than the first one. Iraq again stood defeated with the liberation of Kuwait.
2. Despite the crushing defeat and subsequent Shiite and Kurdish rebellions, Saddam's government retained a strong grip on power in Iraq.

3. As a result of the cease-fire terms, Iraq had to accept the imposition of "no-fly zones" over her territory and United Nations weapons inspection teams sifting through her nuclear and other weapons programs.

4. The economic and trade sanctions begun during the war continue to the present day, contributing to severe economic hardship in Iraq. Some reports say hundreds of thousands of children have died due to the sanctions. There are no indications that the government or military suffer undo hardships.
[/quote:991a9]

To me, it seems that Iraq has violated the terms they agreed to, and must be dealt with accordingly.

I'm sorry, but really can't but this as justification for the US to Invade a sovereign nation. We are being bombarded with propaganda to make us believe that such an action is right. My father did not fight in WWII so that his country could go in, remove a government, and replace them with a puppet government that they could control. AGAIN I say it, I AM PROUD TO BE AN AMERICAN. I do not want to see Cheney/Bush destroy what our people spent 200+ years building, just because they prove that they are big boys.

Sorry Green got carried away, I was brought up by a man who saw way too many people die in WWII, innocent and not so innocent. My father has had a tremendous influence on my believes about war. So, when/if Cheney/Bush decide to invade a Iraq, don't expect everyone to jump on the bandwagon. It is wrong, It makes the US no better than any other imperialistic country. The arguements being used, could be used to invade any country in the world, which means, does every country in the world have to bend to Americas will or face invasion? Think longterm , don't think shorterm.

lol. Mate, Blair is too busy having his own country telling him they don't want to take part. Our troops have been pulled out of Afghanistian, while the population grows more and more fed up with the gung-ho approach that the Bushs seem to take.

Besides which, if I was in Saddam's position I certainly wouldn't be worried. Even the US's closest allies, including key Arabic nations, are refusing to take part. The scary thing is that there is talk in the US, even if it is by a minority, of taking control of Saudi Arabia.

As for bin Laden... you think he's dead? More importantly, do you think it matters whether he is? bin Laden was a face the western media placed to an invisible army, a huge army of people ready, and eager, to die.
