I remember 6 years ago when Chris Something died from another crash with the Snowbirds. He was actually a cadet in my very Air Cadets squadron, 151 Chadburn Squadron.

He came and visited the squad a month before he died and we had a huge show with all of them in the airport hangar open to the public, and i remember a month later thinking i'd shook his hand and then he'd gone off and fucking died...
Its weird shit to think about, but i remember our CO saying that these were men who knew this shit could happen, and they died doing what they loved doing...was really weird...

we call snowbirds, people (usally old) that live in Michigan (or any northern state) in the summer and Florida in the winter
