In sum, Israel diverts 640 MCM/yr from the entire Jordan River basin. Syria diverts approximately 170 MCM/yr from the Yarmouk River, and Jordan receives 140-150 MCM/yr from the Yarmouk basin and 40 MCM/yr from the Lower Jordan. The West Bank does not receive any water from the Jordan basin.

Israel currently uses 93 percent of the annual recharge to the aquifer; Palestinians receive only about 17 percent of the water supply underlying West Bank territory and nothing from the Jordan River.
